NASA's Space Shuttle program ends, ISS assembly considered complete.
2015
Scott Kelly and Mikhail Kornienko begin their year-long mission in space.
2020
SpaceX Crew Dragon becomes the first commercial spacecraft to deliver astronauts to the ISS.
2024
ISS mission extended to 2030, plans for commercial successors initiated.
2028
First successful test of the Temporal Communication Array, allowing real-time communication with past ISS missions.
2030
ISS deorbited. Parts salvaged for the new International Lunar Gateway.
2035
Temporal research station established in Earth orbit, capable of observing ISS throughout its entire operational history.
2040
First successful "time-slice" experiment, recreating a perfect holographic simulation of the ISS at any point in its history.
